All our pride...

Qué chido is especially proud of the projects which are financed by ourselves and which could not be realized without the work of our members.
In 2004 Eileen Ranscht and Jasmin-Soray Klenke developed an alphabetization concept. Here, we conentrate on working with street urchins at the age of 3 to 19 years. On three days per week they practised reading and writing skills. But, maybe even more importantly, the children, who are used to being treated like the scum of the earth, developed a lot of self-confidence. You can read more about the alphabetization concept in Jasmin’s M.A. thesis.
Currently, Eileen is back in Guatemala to keep on the work with the children. She will decisively expand the project and start a pedagogic sports program (violence prevention).
Our international Kindergarden (pre-school) project "Villa Kunterbunt" recently received an award for intercultural learning and is after the troublesome year of 2005 now back on track. Two new educators arrived in March from Hamburg.
Together with our first Chairwoman Jasmin-Soray Klenke, Frank Schulz and Nora Hillen will do everything possible to make the Villa Kunterbunt a place where kids from all social classes and different nations can learn peacefully together and experience diversity and cultural differences as something beautiful and natural.
