Welcome to QUÉ CHIDO e.V.

 

QUÉ CHIDO e.V. has the goal to alleviate the poverty of children in Latin America.

The association has non-profit and non-commercial purposes.

On the contrary to many other associations we do not only work from Germany. The association’s money are managed by our members in the host country (mainly Guatemala). These memebers also manage the projects abroad. This way, we can guarantee that money does not gets lost or mis-managed in any way.

The special dedication that QUÉ CHIDO and its members show in the particular projects is what makes us different to other associations.

 

QUÉ CHIDO e.V. is located in Germany where the committee works and where finances are regulated. The committee takes care of advertisment and fundraising campaigns and takes manages all affairs concerning the association. All active members are especially interested in changing the children’s situation in Latin America. Some of us have worked as volonteers in countries of the so-called 3rd World and are aware of the situation overthere, others simply love children. But one thing is for sure – we all want to make a better world for the children who live in poverty!

As stated above, we work in Germany and Latin America.

In 2003 our Kindergarden project "Villa Kunterbunt" was founded by two educators from Hamburg, Germany which has recently won the LIFE! Award of the BMW Group.

In September 2005 Eileen Ranscht started a Kung Fu program to promote self-esteem to those kids living in the streets and believing that they are not worth getting education, because the state has left them to themselves.

In January 2006 Jasmin-Soray Klenke starts an informal education program for poor children near Antigua, Guatemala. This projects is connected to an alphabetization program which took place from September 2004 to February 2005. Here 20 children acquired basic knowledge in reading and writing.

Two Dutch members organized antoher school-program for children of indigenous background whose families cannot afford a proper education.

On Several so called hot spots in Guatemala like Escuintla and Jocotenango we are offering football schools to get kids from the streets and offer them alternatives to the borring and often dangerous life in the streets.

QUÉ CHIDO is not only an association, but also an emotion, an emotion of happiness, safety, and well-being. And this is exactly what we want to give to the children of Latin America!

To find a way out of poverty on the long term, it is esentially to have a proper education.

This is why we focus our work on the children who are social outcasts and are left alone when still being little children.
